Effect of the choice of different methods on the permeable pavement hydraulic characterization and hydrological classification

Abstract The permeable pavement is a compensatory drainage technique for urban waters that aims to control runoff and ensure ideal hydrological conditions. This work had as main objectives evaluate the infiltration capacity of (PP) at real scale, through analytical numerical modeling. It relies on water experiments related modeling hydrodynamic characterization coating layer (saturated hydraulic conductivity, K s , sorptivity, S ). A large panel models was considered, several estimates were obtained. Then, criteria evaluation maintenance requirement pavements computed all -estimates considering NCRS standards (assessment permeability levels). results indicated nice fits accurate both saturated conductivity sorptivity. However, depended considered model led contrasting in terms classification. For 8 9 models, value -estimate leads classification “Group A” soil classification, meaning very material. In contrasts, last method (numerical inverse modeling) classified D”, i.e., soils with low permeability. Those show importance selection methods regarding assessment pavements.
